As you will have seen, we have recently had emergency work done on one of the Horse Chestnut trees on the Green after it shed a limb. We have had the tree inspected and more work has been suggested in order to make the tree more stable for the future, without it having to be felled completely.
Because the tree is near to the road leading to the school, we have scheduled the work to start on Sunday, 25th September at 8 a.m. so that the traffic using the road is less. The work will then complete on Monday 26th September, working around school times. This will mean that there will be noise all day on the Sunday, until approximately 3.30 p.m., as they remove limbs and reduce the height of the tree.
Most of the area of the Green will be cordoned off and there will be restricted traffic flow. Access will be maintained, but we would appreciate it if residents could park away from the area that day so that as much work can be completed as possible during the day.
We apologise for the inconvenience, but we felt that weekend working would be safer with the tree in such close proximity to the school
