Buckingham Palace has announced the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Queen has seen 15 Prime Ministers in office during her time as Monarch and has reigned for 70 years. Prince Charles will now automatically become King, with his regnal name yet to be confirmed.
There will follow a 1o day period of national mourning leading to the state funeral. The Houses of Parliament will be suspended for part of this time.
The Coronation is not likely to take place for 12 months, and will be marked with a further national holiday.
The Parish Council has cancelled meetings for the coming week and will be flying a Union Jack at half mast at The Village Green
