Histon & Impington Parish Council would like to hear your views on removing access barriers on the footpaths around the village.
We are undertaking this project to improve accessibility for pedestrians within the village. Features such as metal chicanes across footpath entrances, barriers across cul-de-sac ends and residential street links and unnecessary gates and kissing gates are known to cause difficulties for people moving around the village. Especially pedestrians using wheelchairs, mobility scooters or pushchairs. Many of the barriers make the routes very difficult or impossible for these residents. Removing restrictions such as these is supported by the Equalities Act 2010 S.20 (3) (4) (9).
